Pastor Dave Fishman

- Pastor Dave & Stacy Fishman
Coming to Deep Run in March 2006, Stacy and I have been blessed in so many ways. The people here are warm, friendly, and compassionate. They have welcomed us with open arms - loving us and loving each other in practical as well as nontangible ways. Our ministry continues to be fruitful due to the Christ-like Spirit displayed by these wonderful people of God.
Bio...
First and foremost I am a Christian - unashamedly. I married a wonderful girl named Stacy who is also a Christian - she is indeed my better half. Together we have three grown sons (Michael, Matthew, and Joshua), two daughters-in-love (Summer and Sarah) married to Michael and Matthew (respectively), our first grandson (Noah) came in November 2007 and our second grandson (Nolan) came in May 2008...they are a complete joy to have!
My journey with Jesus began at age 11 (1971) when I accepted Him as Savior and Lord. During my teenage years I felt God's call on my life. It was not fully realized until 1988...it was during this time I surrendered to His call - entering the Gospel Ministry. God continues to reaffirm this special call of service in all aspects of life.
Goals...
Simply put - to glorify God in all that I do (1 Corinthians 10:31). This entails loving Him, loving others, and serving the world...three aspects I seek to demonstrate in my ministry and through our church.
I seek to equip God's people to use their God-given talents for His glory - enabling each to know God more and make Him known within our community, country, and world.
I seek to encourage invovlement believing the adage - many hands make the load light. Everyone can do something and we can do all God wants us to - when we all work together. After all, God desires obedience over sacrifice and faithfulness over laziness.
Doctrine...
I believe the pastor loves his flock and compassionately ministers to them. My emphasis is on sound, practical, and biblical preaching/teaching - ministering to families of all shapes and sizes (singles, single-parents, couples, widows and widowers, new families, established families, blended families, etc.) demonstrating God's love within His church and our community.
I believe the Bible is God's absolute truth, inspired by Him wihtout any mixture of error, and is fully trustworthy (2 Timothy 3:16).
Invitation...
