Scholarship Information and Applications
We have scholarships available for all church members graduating high school and seeking advanced education in an accredited college or university. These scholarships are:
1. Russell and Joeann Ault Scholarship offered through our Neuse Baptist Association and is due NLT April 1, 2010.
2. Iris S. Aldridge Scholarship through our Church and is due NLT May 16, 2010.
3. Joseph F. and Nannie H. Tyndall Scholarship through our Church and is due NLT May 16, 2010.
These scholarship applications are available from Pastor Dave or you can download/print the Aldridge and Tyndall Scholarships by clicking the link below. Please don’t wait until the last minute to review the guidelines and application process.
A special thank you to the Ault, Aldridge, and Tyndall families who love and appreciate our young people and are willing to help in their continued education!
Youth Happenings
Just wanted to let all know about some of the things we have going on this month for all to enjoy and participate in
November 10—going to see A Christmas Carol...all are welcome to join us. Meet at church by 4:15 pm. No school November 11th...enjoy an afternoon out!
Novevber 15—our Progressive Supper night leaving church at 5:30 pm. Traveling from house to house to enjoy a great meal together and recount God’s blessings given to each of us!
Sunday Evenings—we meet for a time of fellowship, food, and Bible Study. If you’re in 7th—12th grade...join us won’t you?
Judgement House - 2009
A brand new story of revenge and redemption! A teenage boy discovers the real dangers of our world and how one bad decision will cost him everything!
It’s something we all can relate to—Youth, College, and older Adults. All are welcome to join us on October 24, 2009. We will be leaving church at 5:30 pm.
We have reservations for 30 people, but if we need to have more we can increase that number. Please sign-up to ensure we have a spot for you.
Afterwards, we will return to the church parsonage for refreshments and discussion. This is a great witnessing platform...helping Scripture come to life and understanding the extent of our choices!
Our host church is The First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro at the intersection of Wayne Memorial Drive and Hwy 70 Bypass.

Scholarship Recipients for 2009
Congratulations to all our graduates from High School as well as College! We have been blessed in so many ways at Deep Run First Baptist and two of those blessings help our Youth via college scholarships. The Iris Aldridge Endowment Scholarship for 2009 was awarded to Coley Blair Ledford. The Joseph F. and Nannie H. Tyndall Scholarship inaugural recipient for 2009 is Bailey Grace Hardy. Congratulations to Coley and Bailey. Thanks to Kalen Bryan, Bailey and Coley for sharing with us during our Graduate Recognition Service. To all of our graduates...we continue to keep you in our prayers!
Youth Retreat (Knee-to-Knee)
Youth Fellowship
Can you tell what’s missing in the picture below? If you are a teen and you don’t see yourself than you are what’s missing! Currently on Sunday nights we are studying “The Dirty Dozen”—the twelve apostles. We are understanding those twelve were a lot like us: struggles, doubts, peer-pressure, families, faith, love, obedience, etc. We would love for you to be part of this special time we share.
We don’t just study—though its important. We have a time of fellowship with games and refreshments. Then we dig a little into God’s Word. It’s during this interaction we get to know each other as well as God better. Learning His precepts and applying them to our own lives.
Please make plans to join us on Sunday nights beginning at 6 pm. See you then!

Thanks go out to Ginny Smith and Kathy Darden who provided great refreshments for our Christmas Party...you gals rock! The food was great and made our party a lot of fun!
Thanks go out to the Ledford's, Deriso's, Huffman's, and Keene's for opening their homes to our Youth and sharing some great food for all to enjoy. Because of you our Progressive Supper was a great success!
